Or, are you just heating the tool shed ? :D

Neat gizmo by the way. If I might ask, where'd you get it?

And if they do you don't want it haha! I try to avoid the home improvement staff ... My questions always end up in explanations of what I was asking for because they don't understand . It never fails .

I have the Harman insert blazing at 500 according to magnetic thermo. Hottest spot found with infrared was 680. Plowing through two 5 gallon buckets a day. House at 65 with the propane furnace cycling on to maintain 65  crappy coal to blame

If the stove is reaching those temps, how is that crappy coal ?? Seems your coal & stove are making heat, you just aren't getting the heat into the house.

It was colder last year and I burned the stove the same way last year. Propane kicked on twice last year and I had it set at 67. Furnace runs about 6-8 times a day right now set at 65. Filling a 30 gallon trash can to the top with ashes every week. Having to tend the stove 3 times a day. You can tell the coal is junk, I actually had visible smoke from my chimney the one day. That and the fact I'm about ready to sell this insert and get a free standing stove so I can get more heat from the fuel burned.

Fred does your 50-93 have a blower? How much coal does the stove hold approx? I'm looking at either a hitzer, mark 3, or DS machine. How do you like the stove/ quality of construction?

Yes it does have a blower & is built like a tank. All the stoves you mention are real good--I just found a good deal on Craigs list with mine. I heat 2500 sq 250 yr old all broke up farm house & she does real well. I use a ceiling fan for heat distribution & it works better with my situation. I did have it on a couple nights ago ALONG with the ceiling fan -28* with the wind blowin to beat the band.
