I have a clayton 1800 wood/coal warm air furnace. the manual states to use egg size coal. I currantly use stove coal(one size smaller)w/ huge success. These furnaces hate small coal. If your having burn problems use the biggest coal you can buy and you'll see a big improvement. again baro. Damper is a must w/ these units.
