Just when I thought we could handle anything as the stoves cruised through the bitter cold along comes something we can't handle - ICE. The weather man says 1/10th inch, I say come on over as it HAS to be 1/2" at least and still coming down. The place is a skating rink. Power down? Of course! Looks like a big truck crashed into the transformer and shut the main road. The Wings and Wizard (Our Glenwood #9) are of course untouched and so I am determined to get the #8 online and be power independent. Tomorrow is going to be colder than a witches mammary gland again and we do not know how long we are out for. Out comes the Lister CS/6 gennies that will run on anything... I am ready leave for Florida about now.... global warming my a$$.

First time I saw a Sheetz station, I laughed out loud. Just the spelling, I guess. I was thinking, "The ghetto has got into the fuel business!" Don't have any of those around N.E. .
Still waiting on parts for the Blazer. Figures the stuff I need comes in LAST ...
On a lighter note, I spend the day in -10° wind-chills to catch me some lunch! Haven't ice fished in years. Not my bag, sitting still in frigid temps. I don't even own any tilts or anything - used my father's & brother's stuff. At least freezing to death paid off.
The little guy flopped around when I tossed it in the frying pan - now that's fresh!

Parts came in a day early! And the Good Lord gave me a CLEAR BLUE sunny day, which heated the greenhouse to at least 70° today. Actually got the damn fender painted!
Not my best work, as I started off with 3/4 of a can. I concentrated on the exposed parts, which left me not enough paint to cover the innards. I did grab a can of clearcoat that I've been holding on to for the past 25 years or so. Cleared everything, including the inside - should at least have a fighting chance against corrosion.
Tomorrow is assembly day .... well, minus that chiwaneese bumper that arrived all rusted up ...

3° here this morning. It's up to the low teens now. Trying to take the chill off in the barn .... and I can't get the oil to flow fast enough .... 13° out there ...
Finally caught a decent pic of this guy yesterday in the woods out back. I was wondering if he made it this far through hunting season or not.
edit to add.....there was a bigger 8 point I often saw through the summer and early fall but haven't seen for quite a while. He may be in a freezer by now.
