Hard to believe its January 10th already. My grand daughters birthday (Valentines day) will be here soon. The other night I went back and reread the entire thread from when she was born. All the highs, lows etc. New Grand pop! I can't thank everyone enough who kept my spirits up and supported me during that very traumatic time. You guys and gals were and are great! She is doing very well and is a very normal healthy baby now.
One of the things besides this forum that was a tremendous help during that time was the Ronald McDonald House in Washington DC. During the time that Juniper was in intensive care they were amazing. I had no idea how great those places were. They provided an incredibly nice place for my son and daughter in law to stay. As nice as any bedroom in any ones home. Fantastic kitchen facilities too. Now every time I go to McDonalds (too often) I put my change in the collection box for the Ronald McDonald House. I'd urge you to do the same. So to thank them and support the families who are going through rough times now with their children, on February 14th, my son, daughter in law, her parents who will be flying in from Wisconsin, my other son and his girlfriend, my daughter and my wife and me will be going to the Ronald McDonald House in DC to make breakfast for all who are staying there. They told us to plan for between 35-50. This was my daughter in laws idea. She said she wants to make it an annual tradition to give back to those that helped them so much. She wants Juniper to grow up with this tradition on her birthday. Afterwards we will come back home and have a nice birthday party for Junebug. What a difference a year makes!

That sounds like a great tradition, also sounds like you have a great family there! Happy early birthday to Junebug! Enjoy

Oh my is her daddy going to go nuts in about 14 years as she grows up. That is definitely 1 cutie right there. Better start reloading some rounds right now so he has plenty....
As the others have said, it is real nice to see the follow up on here.
Terry, I love the idea of the breakfasts. Definitely a way to say thanks in a big way. And imagine how nice it is going to be for the others who are now facing what you guys went through. My hats off to you guys for coming up with that idea.
Rick
