This forum is the best

I have to say it, I have been on other helpful forums on the internet, read a bunch of library books, but this website is really the most helpful when it comes to heating with coal. Nowhere else is there a group of real world coal burners giving real world advice like this. No way would I be burning coal without this forum, I didn't even know about coal boilers a couple years ago, I thought they were all just old asbestos packed inefficient junk from the bad old days of dusty dirty hazardous heat. Thanks guys for showing me the way, we have been so warm this winter it's truly a blessing to see the kids keeping their extra blankets folded up. Last year they needed 4 or 5 blankets and I worried about them getting sick, I couldn't afford the propane to keep the house above 60 during the coldest months. We were literally freezing and going broke, this year we are all warm and it's much more affordable. Thanks again.

I'm with you there! I am new to this forum myself and the response/knowledge level here is unmatched. Thanks to all.

Hope the Rocks stay cheap - if we start seeing $150+/barrel oil we might start to see some supply/demand issues.. I'm going to be stocking up heavy this summer.

Agreed, without this forum I wouldn't be enjoying the warmth of coal heat. When I bought the first stove in October 2006 and replaced my wood burner I had nothing but problems, I was tempted to give up. Because of the cost of the new stove I was determined to get it to work right. Finding this forum early last year helped me straighten things out and now I have 2 stoves burning, neighbors that think I'm crazy when they see me shoveling coal down my aluminum siding chute stuck in the cellar window, quite a few friends I made here, and a warm house. My sincere thanks and appreciation to those who have educated me and helped me learn to be a good coal burner.
