Here is a Modern Glenwood 114 they are asking $1,000.00 for. Two hour drive and it looks like it's in rough shape. Are they a better heater than my Glenwood Oak 30?

Is this Sterling 116 a base burner or a straight oak stove? (Not in the hunt, just curious). Looks like a nice stove.

That 114 is way over priced. Even if every part is good in it looks like there is still a load of work to get it going again. Appears to have the back pipe. More of a room heater than a whole house heater. At least not a drafty old house heater! I think your Glenwood 30 would put out more heat.

I'm told it's a straight oak.

That's what I thought. If it were a top of the line base burner you might be able to justify the price.

I have a compressor and the blasting equipment so I can handle the restorations myself. I really enjoy doing it.

The guy is asking $400.00 for this one. Home Sparkle by Portland Stove Foundry.

I've looked at that one myself and asked for inside pic's, it's too far of a ride if it's a dud. :(

You're set then! I enjoyed restoring my warm morning . One of these would be even more fun. Good luck!

I'm out of control on the stove front myself. I have a little Atlantic End Heater sitting in the garage I have absolutely no need of but I bought it anyway. I suppose I could put a chimney up and have a heated garage. I have a tractor fetish as well...the wife doesn't understand that one either. About time I took up golf.

Tractors are good too! I have four and then add automobiles and motorcycles . 8 autos and 3 motorcycles haha . Although sometimes you wonder why you have all this junk... I think most of us have this disease .
