That doesn't sound like too good of a deal to me!Bud63 wrote:According to the sign on the scale house door the prices for 50 lb. bagged rice and nut coal are as follows: 1-10 bags-$8.00/bag, 11-20 bags-$7.50/bag, 21-30 bags-$7.00/bag, 31-40 bags-$6.50/bag. At the lowest price per bag of $6.50 that's $260 per ton. I have been buying 100 pound bags of Reading locally for $245 per ton. At $15 per ton more & adding in the cost of driving 1 3/4 - 2 hours down to get it & 1 3/4 - 2 hours back, I think I'll pass.
Now, if they were to give a much better price break, like around $5.50 per 50 lb. bag for buying 4-5 one ton pallets of 50 pound bagged rice I might think differently. It might be worth making a phone call to see what better price breaks they are willing to offer....

Its too cold out right now for me to pick up loose rice at Lehigh, so this may be an option for me when i'm running low.
it's only a 60min drive for me to hit L.A.
local place wants $370/ton delivered right now..
