Yes, a true bummer indeed and sorry to hear this news. Like Fred mentioned, keep positive he'll adapt to it. In the long term maybe this will turn out to be the best solution. It's better to have complications now instead of later when it could be worse yet. I want to echo what Fred said, Ya done good my friend :)

very sorry to hear ,it will take time ,but he will do well and be fine ,!!! keep your head up and just think thank the good lord he still with you and the family and you all get to still enjoy each others comany for many years to come !!!!!!!!!
