Your brother is very wise. That is how I started, but it escalated quickly from there. I became obsessed with efficiency... Yet another shameless plug for my thread:rberq wrote:After I played around with my falling-off heat sinks, my brother pointed out that if I just blew a fan on the stove back, I would accomplish more without defacing anything.oliver power wrote:Todays test module was more of a flop.
Anyone Attach Aluminum or Steel Heat Sinks to Your Stove?
The beauty of coal is that you can remove many more free BTUs from the stove without worrying about creosote buildup from a too cool fire.
I figure the heat either goes into the room, or up the flue.

Please join in 63roundbadge. This isn't a HITZER thread. This thread is about fabricating a clip-on device to better move air for circulation with fan off. I chose HITZER because that's what I have. Now, I'm going to read your thread, as the title sounds interesting. I may pick up an idea. Or, if nothing else, your experience / thoughts. But I have happily lived with my mods and I am presenting that thread if anyone is interested:
