My old drafty house is 1,600 sq ft. I too will get a top vent and blower Chubby though. ON next season list
WE have the hot air nat gas furnace set to 'Fan only" and we blow that hot Chubby air all around the house and filter it, and sanitize it too!
I run the chubby at around 390 degrees and service at around 11 hours now, get pure white ash...when super cold and windy we bump the temp up to 430-440.

How many floors? I have the same square footage. I have two floors and old single pane wood windows.

WE have 2 floors ( not including basement, which has giant rock walls) . we did upgrade all the windows 2 years ago, the originals from 1862 were still in place in many spots.
Its been in low 20's a few nights, and the new Chubby has certainly impressed us with heat, and we have been trying the blower, which is amazing. When its sub zero we will run the house fan part of the furnace and have no issues, Im sure.
I did a ton of scientific research on coal stoves before buying a refurb from Larry. My main reasoning is absolute efficiency with heat transfer. With NO firebrick, the heat can get out of the chubby much better. In fact the Chubby may even benefit from some fins on the sides!!. Goal this season is 27 lbs a day and 70 degrees, and 17% humidity in the house, and Zero colds/ Flu !!

1450 sq.ft. single floor ranch, built in 1954. Above 20* outside temp, Chubby, with a variable speed blower, keeps living room, dining room, kitchen at 68*-70*, 2 bedrooms and bath 5* cooler, running stove temp at 300*-350*. Stove tending is 12+ hrs. When the outside temp drops(10* and lower), rather than push the Chubby, we light a wood fire in the Yukon in the basement, which also protects the pipes from freezing.
'Gotta luv' a Chubby'!
Cheers
I am a tad baffled why you wouldn't just run the Yukon all the time or does it not do coal?
