If You liked this, look up Adrian "Warby" Warburton....In the end,He was a Brit AR Wildman who ironically met his end in an F-5,the AR variant of the P-38 Lightning. He was a Hero of Malta during their "Dark Days" Siege and made his claim to Fame in Spitfires. He went missing after taking off from the very Airfield where this film was shot. They finally found bits of his remains in 2002,about 38 KM outside of Munich. Because it was an American Plane,The majority of the 'Ol Boy was buried as an unknown American Aviator. They got that straightened out,got all of him together, and held a Full Militairy Honors Funeral, which after all those years, his Widow and a Fellow Flight Officer from his Group attended.....A book was written about him titled"The Maltese Spitfire"......These AR Guys had Amazing Courage, flying unarmed on Deep Penetrations into Enemy Domains.....Many were Lost.......Thanx Again,Grump !

Great post ! I love this sort of history. I still have a roll on undeveloped film that was found in an antique camera I bought a few years back. I need to get to developing it .

I'm so glad I earn a living wrenching aircraft.
If I could just get the opportunity to wrench '51's, I'd do it free of charge
I've apprenticed for some mechanics from that generation that had forgotten more than I'll ever know....
Try this one, it's good.
