Stove size coal for sale?...anyone? anywhere?

PostBy: PJZ On: Mon Jan 26, 2015 1:14 pm

Good Day,
I'm looking for stove size coal to burn in my BB. I do have some nut but would like to try stove size. I live in the Detroit area, the stove is in my cottage in Roscommon/Higgins Lake area.
Any thoughts or leads please let me know.
Burn on,

Check with Centralia Coal Sales in centralia, PA and Reading coal in PA
they should be able to tell you who sells stove coal in your area.

The Reading guy I dealt with is Jim at J&J Log Homes. His cell number is (517)398-1655.
He can tell you what he's got on hand. I believe he's the least expensive coal source in Michigan and will deliver for a fee.

He's a good guy to deal with also.

Pancho...I emailed Kanehomes and got this response....

.......We do have coal in stock: stove, nut and rice sizes. We have Blaschak brand anthracite (hard) coal. Please understand and use caution when using an old style stove that may be designed for just soft coal.
The coal is bagged in 40 pound bags like water softner salt. The issue with bulk coal is the size area it takes to maintain a large enough yard to have both storage bins plus area enough to get semi trucks in and out and still have a State certified scale.

Our price is $7.25 bag plus 4% fuel tax for the State, comes to $7.54 a bag.

We do offer a discount for buying a full pallet, 60 bags, 2400 pounds, for $405.60. That just $6.50 a bag plus tax.

If you plan on getting a skid we ask that you give a advance notice. First, to make sure we have a full pallet readily available and someone to run the fork lift truck. Also, weather, specifically snow, has to be worked through sometimes.

You can also reach me at 517-204-2451.

We also feature the HITZER brand of coal heaters, fireplace inserts and add on furnaces.

Please let me know if you would like a brochure or price quote.

John

if anyone can use this info...he is close to Lansing off 96...
