Hand Fed Coal Boiler: Where to buy hitzer 50-93 near york pa. ?

Post by VicB » Tue. Feb. 03, 2015 7:11 pm

Looking to try coal as a supplimental heat source. Looked around the net a bit and have settled on a hitzer 50-93. Now I just need to locate one to purchase near york pa. Would like a new one but a used one in good shape would be just fine. So if you know of a dealer that has them for a good price or someone that has one in good shape, please let me know! As always the cheaper the better! Thanks!

Watch Craigslist, check the classifieds on this forum. The Hitzer web site has a dealer-finder, just enter your zip code. If you're not in a hurry, I'd suggest you call all the stove dealers in your area, regardless of brand, and tell them what you are looking for. They might take one in trade from a misguided unfortunate who is converting to wood pellets. :P

Ive been scouring craigslist for a couple weeks and havent seen one come up,about 100-150 mile radius. I'm guessing people that have them are really happy with them! I've e-mailed a couple of dealers but havent had any responses yet. My work hrs. kinda keep me from calling during business hrs. I'll just have to make time for that! This is such a knowledgeable forum figured I would ask here! Thanks for the suggestions I'm sure more questions will arise for me as I dive into coal heat!

I just bought my Hitzer 82-fa from hillside. Very nice people. If you don't need it right away, I waited till they have the stove special during the summer where you can a percentage off your total sale and a 1000 pounds of bagged coal for free. Usually the sale happens in the end of august, but I would call and check

I paid $1850 w/blower back in August 2013. I think that they were listing for $2200-$2300 back then. I picked it up & installed it myself. What does that $2499 price include?

I got mine at Gettysburg Stove Shop. I'll try to find the number. I paid about 2600 with delivery and new stove pipes to the thimble including the barometric damper. Which isn't really needed with this stove. I have the blower too. I didn't have any trouble with them.
