Hello all, For the past couple of seasons I have been getting my Kimmel pea coal from a local Agway dealer. His supply seems to have dried up. I was paying 400 bucks a 2500 pound pallet. Does anyone know of a source in this area that has reasonably priced coal? Thanks.

Where in eastern Maine. There is a supplier in Easton Me who will deliver about anywhere. His price is 320 ton currently (bagged) or 285/ton bulk...but he has good delivery rates if you order 4+ tons.. He has Blashak in most sizes

Thanks for the reply there fellow Mainers. I called Downeast Coal this morning and the gal I talked with thought they had some pea coal. It is Reading and priced at 330 a ton. I purchased a few tons from Downeast coal a few years ago and they were very pleasant to deal with but I thought the Reading coal had a lot of mush in the bags and didn't seem to last nor heat like the Kimmel or Blackshack. Don't know if that is the norm or if I got a bad batch.
I spoke with the fellow at Center Farms early this fall and found him to be very pleasant and accommodating. I am located in Deer Isle which is many hours from Easton. They do deliver in the Ellsworth area every couple of weeks which is only 30 miles from me and he thought he could deliver to me if the timing was right for his Ellsworth delivery. I can't remember the shipping quote but I believe he was talking a six ton minimum order with shipping to be in the 30-40 per ton range. I wasn't really setup to handle the bulk coal at that time and decided to stay with Agway. I think I will give him another call and check again.
I also called Dysharts today and they have Reading at 320 a ton.
