hi to all of you coal burners! just joined the coal burning community this afternoon we fired up my new to me EFM 520 and the blue ladies are dancing and water temp is up to160 degrees and gaining .
going to try pictures soon !! thanks to all for all of the interesting info here :D :D

Stoker Coal Boiler: Gentleman Janitor GJ-5, Van Wert VA-600, Axeman Anderson130 X3.
Hand Fed Coal Furnace: Harman SF3500 reduced down to 3 grates connected to its own plenum
Coal Size/Type: Rice, Chestnut and whatever will fit through the door on the Harman
Other Heating: Noth'in but COAL! Well, Maybe a little tiny bit of wood

warm morning to all !! stoker still running this mourning :) Water temp is now at 155 going to turn up a notch and see what happens at 4 teeth now I think!!

WOW !! nights like this its really going to suck not stoking the OWB! ;) just walk in my new outdoor boiler room pull the fines cleanout and look at the fire run to warm house which is now a constant temp :)
hate to admit but glad the wood monster rotted out !! then it had one more good kick for me the forced air blower quit 5 days before planed day to fire up coal . just ran OWB with door open a crack and burned up my LAST pile of wood !! hooked up with tractor loader and moved out back.see ya!!!
pics some time this weekend gotta get wife to do that gotta have a beer cause I missing loading the wood monster :!: :idea: :)

Com'on pipline, we all know that your running an EFM now instead of an OWB. You've got pleanty of time to drink beer, figure out how to post pictures, learn how to rebuild a V-Twin, Write a letter to your Mom, figure out world peace, ect...

Now where's those pictures!

the one thing I miss with owb,it was my"heat transfer unit" load with junk mail.cardboard, paper, beer boxes, Christmas tree, anything without a nail would go in and come out as heat. now I come home have a beer in 70 f building and admire my coal gun. wheres the pics? :cheers:
