That grease is most likely not compatible with the factory grease in those bearings. Most bearings come with a lithium complex grease, which is not compatible with an inorganic clay grease like you used. The grease is also heavier than necessary.

Are you able to purge the grease out?

Just about any lithium complex grease in a #2 grade should be fine. Do you have access to other types of LE grease? Their Almagard 3752 is a great product.

Mystik JT-6 Hi-Temp is also a good product and is usually available at Wal-Mart. Once you get the old grease purged out you can put the grease gun away...1-2 pumps per season is probably all this needs.

Rob is right don't over grease a pump in the start of the season and I hit it with a pump a month before shut down. I did the synthetic grease and had the same thing happen and now use lubriplate bearing grease. Also check the set screws on the pillow bearings after a few days of operation. Adjust them evenly and don't over-tight .

did a flush tonight with the mystik jt6 grease[tractor supply co]. suprised tonight, looking at shaft where it comes out of boiler towards front bearing it's blue/black from heat, and this used to be inside the dierct drive motor fan, hard to belive this would hold up more than a day?? thanks for grease inputs :D
