Hello All. Does anyone have the ds 1600 coal stove? If so would you be kind enough to post the owners manual. I can't locate mine. I am trying to find out what size rope gaskets the stove requires.Any help would be great.
Thanks
Rob

I don't think that information is in the manual. I called the company DS Machine, Gordonville PA – 717-768-3853 for the hopper cover gasket a couple weeks ago and they said 3/8". I believe the door gaskets are the same.shoman70 wrote:I can't locate mine. I am trying to find out what size rope gaskets the stove requires.

Two weeks, so far.shoman70 wrote:OK thank you. For the info. How long did the gasket last for you? Just curious
Hopper gasket that came with my stove was still in good shape after 2 1/2 seasons, but it just fell off one day due to whatever adhesive they used or didn't use at the factory.

i did confirm with the manufacturer the size of the rope gaskets are 3/8 for the ash pan, glass door and the hopper cover are all the same size. I do remove the stove pipe at the end of the season and cap the thimble. I also brush the stove pipe, should I be using baking soda on the inside of the pipes? to combat any type of Corrosion?
Thanks
Thanks

Have you ever used baking soda & water on battery acid? It foams, and bubbles battery acid as it's naturalizing it. You'll see the same effect anywhere on your stove pipe where fly ash may be hiding. Afterwards, rinse the pipe out. Let dry in hot sun.
