Any coal dealers near Port Huron,MI

PostBy: Virginia Woodworker On: Sat Feb 14, 2015 8:08 pm

I live in Port Huron and am going to try and get a chubby stove for next years season. I am wondering if there are any dealers to buy coal from in my area. I would have to have it delivered to me.
Thanks

Just go down the road and fill up at the power plant..., just kidding, see the Michigan forum, no place in PH I know of but the closet is at B&W landscape near S.A.N.G...

Edit to add, I just saw you posted this in the MI forum, somewhere in here there is a thread with all the dealers here in MI..

If you can get it across the border, we stock Blaschak rice, nut and stove in 40 pound bags . 15 minutes north of London Ontario, about 1 1/4 hr from Port Huron . Just a nice drive down 402

Thanks,

1 to 15 bags = $10 cdn $$
16 to 179 - $8.75
3 or more skids= 180 bags or more - $8 per bag
The down side may be that you would need to pay our 13% sales tax on top of those prices, and it could be a real, hassle to claim those taxes back .
It may also cost approx $75 for broker fees at the border . If you are interested totally, give me some numbers and I will contact my border brokers and see what they say .

Thanks but I think I will try to get it in the US first. I can probably get it cheaper and with less hassle but thanks for the input.

Search for coal in Lapeer. I cannot recall the name of the place that sells it there but that's the closest place to Port Huron that I have heard.
