Yup ! -16 here and the wind is still blowing, but not as bad as last night.

Right now the primaries are only cracked open 1/6 inch, the MPD is only a couple of degrees off fully closed and it's still pulling .04. Last night I had it dampered down tight with the check damper open about 10%- half what I usually have it open to get a bit more heat out. It was still pulling .02 when I came down this morning.

Draft? We don't dare let the cat near the stove ! :D

I have not been out to the garage to check on my cook stove yet. I had the check damper half open as I just want to keep some heat out there. Normally, it will still be about 60-65° Headed out there in a few minutes after "Andrew" gets settled in on a steady temp.

Years ago one of my cats decided he wanted to jump onto the top of my stove which was hot. He burned the pads off of most of his toes. I have since made a 4' high fence using TSC fencing. It has straight sides and bent into a "U" that fits around the stove.

People ask why the fence, I answer "grand kids and cats", it works well.

I worried about that too, especially with four kittens born here last November. But, so far, the cats have shown they are smarter. In ten years and now 7 cats over that time, .... only Melissa and I have burned ourselves on this range.
