Way too much money !One could buy a Hitzer 50-93 or Alaska Kodiak or DS Circulator 1600 + 10 tons of coal & still have some money left over. Way too much "value" being placed on "old".

I think the "value" is being placed on how rare the stove is and the condition it's in, not how old it is.

It can be yours today, and could possibly be in your house by the end of the week. It has a 'buy it now' price.

RARE doesn't heat as well as sensible does. $6k would buy 1 of the above mentioned stoves +18 ton of coal.

Definitely a collector's piece. That stove needs someone who can appreciate it's beauty. Honestly, could anyone enter your home and not be completely awed by it's presence? That is some serious bling..

It still wouldn't work here, I do not care for such an ornate look,my wife dislikes it even more than me.We can take turns watching the flames.Sometimes even if one likes an object one still has to face sensible reality of the value of the $$ spent.

That's what art is.. I wouldn't spend thousands on a painting either.
But something like that I would if I could.

Don't take it personal, I was just messin with ya. A stove like that is nice to look at on the forum, but I wouldn't buy one for in my house.

If I had that kind of money and the house that would fit its décor, I would buy it. I understand that it is not for everybody, just like an antique car is not for me. Collectors collect different things and some would not blink and eye at paying that kind of money. I will never personally know, I can't afford either...the car or stove. toothy
