It's common knowledge that almost every bill has some kind of pork somewhere in it. That's one of the ways bills get passed, throw something in it to satisfy the "other side" so that they will get off the fence and vote for it.[/quote]
It is also the reason why a lot of bills are voted against. Obama and McCain both voted against bills that would have increased support for the troops. I know poor Cindy's blood boiled and she wet herself when Obama voted against it, but she forgot to talk about her wetting herself when her hubby also voted against the bill, because the were parameters of the bill which they could not support. This is an easy example, but when Obama says McCain voted in a certain way, or vive versa, I think they should look at the floor notes and see why the vote was for or against, because in many cases, the main bill was supported but the pork was not. Seldom is it as cut and dried as the media makes it out to be.
