And, now that we've been reminded of the rules here, do you mean to direct that at me? ;)

No, I was quoting one of your posts from a few days ago when you called someone a douche bag and somehow managed to not get bounced. I think you should have been you see. Bad short term memory? Wonder what that's from?

Please understand something CoalKirk, the Liberals only have one real rule that they follow. "Do as I say, Not as I do", It's become a mantra for them.

If you care to find the post in context, you'll see it was in direct response to an outrageous suggestion that I wasn't enough of a "real man" to defend my family. How would you plead to that?

The reminder for everybody to trim our sails on the personal stuff came afterward, and the only person to get a shower didn't heed that reminder.

So, you're wrong again.

You too, Ed, especially since you should know the context somewhat better.

No I'm not wrong. I never said it came after the warning. And I don't care what context it was in, it was crude, base and tasteless. So much so that if this were my forum, you'd been cooling your heels. Lucky for you, it's not my forum.

Pardon me, I was mockingly imitating Senator Mr.Clean, when he is mocking somebody he actually really dislikes, like, for example, Mitt Romney. I should have put "my dear friend" in quotes.

My belief is that you and some others are incapable of discussing issues on which there is strong disagreement without directing your anger at the proponent of the argument. I've never gotten personal or disrespectful with anybody here who didn't first take a pot shot at me. You included.

I'll say it again: That you don't like the way I describe people you respect is just too bad. I don't like the way you describe people I respect. The difference is I don't "whine" about it.

And I note that you don't take any of your right-wing brothers to task for their disrespectful language, either. So one is left to conclude that you don't really mean what you say about using respectful language here.

Well, nice to see everyone playing friendly. Now, the question is - "Who's more manly, he who gets the last word or he who refuses to respond to taunting?"

Thanks for the INFORMATION on this forum. I'm not sure why there's such a personality clash between people who burn rocks.
see you next fall.

I guess the question boils down to this: How are you personaly doing & do you want 4 more years of Bush policies/attitude? (personaly, I'm not among the super rich & think gasoline/heating oil prices are being kept artificialy high to benefit Exxon-Mobil & I really want the money were are wasting in Iraq spent right here to benefit my Grandchldren, not to mention the GI's lives lost & wasted)
If you like the way things are going, then vote Republican. It's really pretty simple.

Obama on Iraq in 2004: "United States had an "absolute obligation" to remain in Iraq long enough to make it a success. "The failure of the Iraqi state would be a disaster," It would be a betrayal of the promise that we made to the Iraqi people, and it would be hugely destabilizing from a national security perspective."

Obama on Iraq in 2005: "Obama argued in a speech before the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations that the US military should scale down its presence, but that US troops were "still part of the solution" in Iraq."

Obama on Iraq in 2007: "called Monday for U.S. troops to start leaving Iraq in 2007, arguing that the threat of an American pullout is the best leverage Washington has left in the conflict."

"immediately begin to remove our combat troops. Not in six months or one year — now,".

Is he pandering to the left, flip flopping or just confused? This is on a subject as serious as war. I think he does lack the experience we need in a Commander in Chief during these dangerous times not a pandering politician.
