They are a small boiler used to heat a water tank by thermosiphon.

I agree, I use it all the time, wonderful reference material.

However for some reason doing a search under Bucket a day & Bucket a day 13a returns only the PO question? :(

And I know for a fact I've read threads where this style heater is discussed in depth.

Any suggestions as to search words that would work?

Sometimes, when I don't know the exact search words to use, I have better luck doing a search from outside of this site,.... such as Yahoo.com search engine tosses out many additional search topics to help your search.

A search in Yahoo.com came up with these for this site.

Bucket a Day Heater
Bucket a Day? Water Heater

And there are many other hits on the internet by searching using, "Bucket a Day", or "bucket a day coal water heater".

Hi Paul:

Both links you posted work. I get pages of exchanges between members regarding "Bucket a day " heaters

Need to check if I have a pop up blocker or some such thing stopping the search function from fully functioning.

Thanks

John,

And, they may be the only two threads in connection with that search subject ?????

When you get search returns on here, often times those many returns are various posts to the same few threads. The search function separately lists everywhere in a thread the search word shows up. That makes it look like there's lots of threads when it may just be lots of posts to just a few threads.

However, outside this site, just using "Bucket a Day" in quotes, my Yahoo search retuned dozens of pages, of links to other info on the web about the various stoves that went by the name, "bucket a day".

So, I often start searching off site because it not only shows all available on the web, when it lists threads on this site it will ONLY show me the threads and I don't have to dig through pages listing each post to see which of the threads more closely answers my question.

Paul

Paul: I followed your suggestion and found it works very well. Thanks for the information, I'll need to find out why I'm not getting as good a results as others when using the sites "search" - must be some setting in my computer.

I too find this Bucket a day stove an interesting design with a lot of useful possibilities.

Thanks again to you and scalabro, Regards: john
