One of the four studs holding the top plate on the boiler has worked itself loose, to the point where I had to cut it off tobe able to clean out the tubes.

Question for Matt or Dave: How do I get the rest of the stud out of the boiler, and how do I get a new one in? It's not threaded, was it just pressed fit into the hole? I have three good studs left, will I have any problems running the boiler for a while without that fourth stud?

Thanks in advance.

Studs don't come cheap.

Perhaps you can heli-coil the hole and screw in a new stud.
