This is indeed a model 88... things to note here are that the firebrick is clearly shot (requires 6 brick and there not cheap to make), the upper baffle could simply use some furnace cement to block up any "under baffle" air flow (or weld it if you have a machine). The grate is a nut grate and looks serviceable! (this grate can be used on any model 88 OR model 44), the real rarity on this particular 88 is that it includes an optional blower shroud (this is rare on a 44 and ultra rare on an 88!), if it has the fasco blower it came with than its worth that money JUST for the blower itself!

nice to see another old Crane lives... :D

Doug beat me to it as I was searching for the info. LOL. I found this on another thread: My Crane Coal Cooker 88 ( Like a 44 but Taller)

The 44 is 27 inches tall, the 88 is 36 inches tall.

YES !! Hopefully a forum member gets this one.~~~~~ dcrane is back ! just when the season is about to end :) I had an answer typed out & then saw dcrane beat me to it,about time he does his job . ;) :P Thanks dcrane,welcome back ,again. :)

You guys know I'm in the middle of my BS in hopes of starting life anew with any luck (court today so wish me luck), but I talk to most of you via phone and email when anyone needs ;) Brutal year for weather, great year for coal so I know all you folks have been smiling all winter! :D
