Spring is here! I'm trusting that some (most?) of you are actually feeling Spring weather. Yesterday morning it was zero degrees here. Today is much warmer at 28. So.... come on in & join us for coffee on this first full day of Spring. How long has it been since we've had waffles? Some bacon on the side will make the maple syrup have good flavor. Speaking of Maple syrup, tomorrow is open house at Maple shacks across the state. The sap is barely running, but I hear that there is enough to at least have a demonstration. A mile from here is "The Curran Homestead". They have a small wood fired evaporator & will be making some for fun & learning. Stop by!

I need a day off! Work has overwhelmed me this week. One of these days I'll get caught up. Even if there's no "work" I'm sure I'd stay plenty busy. Today John & I are going south to look at a "new" snowmobile. I'm thinking of trading up then next winter selling the one I got such a good deal on. I could end up with a fairly new machine almost for free. We got some fresh snow last week & now the local trails are even better. Even if I've been busy all day I sneak out at 10PM for a 20 minute blast before I go to bed.

I hope you all enjoy the weekend. You know what to do.... do it!

Mornin all, now that's a breakfast Freddy:) OUTSTANDING. Likewise this week-end is Marathon Maple Fest--I've seen no-one local in the woods cause of STILL 4-5 ft drifts. We always come up with enough syrup to do it though. Lots of crafts & displays to see. Enjoy the week-end people.

Mornin everyone.

Waffles with bacon and maple syrup sounds great Freddy. Sounds like you and FF may both be attending some Maple Festival activities. Enjoy yourselves out there if ya do.
Currently 39 degrees here, with a forecast high of around 50'ish. That will finish melting the spring snow we received.

Take care and be safe all.

Morning all, Spring has Sprung! Daffodils are in full bloom. Nicely adding some color to the yard. Grass started growing, but only where the dog was doing his business all winter. Well fertilized.

Freddy keep the B-fast warm, I'm on my way out the door to go checkout an F250 I might buy. I'll post back if I buy it.

This week Saturday means back to work, the upside is next week is a true three day weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

Snow yesterday ushered in spring but the upcoming temperatures should get rid of it in no time.

Give me a coffee; skip the waffles and bacon, that’s everything the doctor said not to eat. :) When the doctor says to cut out coffee, that’s when we have to draw the line.

Have fun, hug the loved ones.

Good morning. I started out the day with a maple glazed donut and chased it down with some extra strong coffee...what a great way to start the day! This afternoon I am headed to Burlington VT in search of a huge cheeseburger and some high-test craft beer. Hopefully I am back tomorrow. 8-)

Spring has not made it to my area yet, but I'm ready. Truck is parked on a solid service, and the last of my coal is moved inside.

Morning All.

We celebrated with a 1/2" of snow overnight, but it's been warming up slowly and snow pack is melting, down to a few inches in spots, and actual grass in other spots. Yay!

Going up to a friends for an Equinox party today at Kueka Lake, check my sisters summer home, since its been vacant over the winter, and see how it weathered.

Finish/start a few woodworking projects tomorrow for some friends at work.

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi you'll,

It's a beautiful day here in Northern VA. We had a cold front come through Thursday night that left us about an inch of slush. After that it's been sunshine and temps in the low 60s.

I've been moving beds around. DK and I got a new Memory Foam mattress so our old but still good Sleep Number bed went into our son's room and his worn out mattress went to the dump. I had high hopes for the Sleep Number bed when we got it but lately it's been killing my back. It's time to try something else.

The big thing this last week was I started wearing a hearing aid in my right ear. It's amazing. Mine has 3 programs in it so I can maximize my hearing in every environment. Program 1 is for a quiet one on one situation. Program 2 is for loud places like the school bus or a restaurant. Program 3 turns the microphones to over my right shoulder so I can better hear someone talking to me from the shotgun seat as I drive. That allows me to clearly hear someone giving me verbal driving directions on the bus. Each of the programs has a background noise reduction feature so the sound is really crisp. It's amazing because I'm hearing sounds I'd forgotten were there; like the spring peepers in the swamp behind our house or the birds chirping. It seems like I rediscover a lost sound everyday. Yesterday it was the alarm on my watch. I just never thought about it. The ear piece has a rocker switch so moving between programs is easy and unnoticeable. So far it's been worth the money.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Take care, Lisa

Glad to hear that you can hear again Lisa.

I used to be an avid hunter. Archery was my favorite. I loved sitting there motionless and just looking and listening. It's totally amazing at the sounds one hears in that type of situation. I can identify completely with the sounds you hear now, that were lost to you before.

Good late afternoon people, I like the waffle idea Freddy yum yum :dancing: . I was up at 5:30 this morning drinking coffee and replacing the water pump(at least this one is easy and lots of room to work),coolant reservoir, belt, and rear brakes.

I finally took the dog in to get a hair cut this morning, I hate this time of the year when It's wet and muddy because the dog gets real muddy and needs what I call a chassis bath( just the lower end not the whole dog) before I bring her in for the night but the fact remains, the dog makes the house more dustier then the Hitzer does :o .
Going to try to get out skiing one last time tomorrow with the kid If there still opened but I can't imagine how the base Is been real warm here the past week.
Ok HB how did you make out with your repairs? any missing skin? I dun did good today, not a scratch on me :D

Ok well have fun folks and enjoy your stay ;) . Keepaeyeonit

Here I am...a day late and one waffle short of a full stack!

Got some projects done yesterday in between distractions so it was a good day. I pulled the shower valve and cleaned it out which helped with the pressure at that shower head. No major gunk in it but it was a moral victory to get the valve cartridge apart and back in place without tearing an o-ring or cracking the plastic tabs. I left the stuff out of the closet and the access panel off the back just to make sure no leaks develop in the next day or so. Mr. Murphy says that if I was optimistic and buttoned it up the leak would happen for sure.

I also cleaned the diaphragm on the pressure switch for the well pump and re-pressurized / re-calibrated the pressure tank. It is 'much more better' dialed in to the 40 - 64 psi range than before. I managed to scare myself pretty good when the wrench slipped off the adjustment nut and touched the contact switch the ONE TIME I didn't throw the breaker while I adjusted it - THAT will get your attention quick! So the chore got done without electrocuting myself or worse....burning up the well pump with that little slip!
