Hearings are going on now & I suggest that forum members watch (CSPAN will rebroadast all day http://www.capitalnews.org/ ) at least chairman Carl Levin's opening statement (about 10 minutes) as well as the general's statement.....This is good TV!

After watching a good bit of the Senate & House hearings, I've come to a conclusion: Iraq needs a powerful "
Strongman" to rule that wild country!
......That's what the Iraqi people need....A "Strongman"....Someone who has the power to keep all the various sects from killing eachother. Maybe a little ruthless but someone who'll rule effectively & enforce peace in Iraq. Probaly would have to have military stature & to who all the Iraqi people would have respect , or at least fear of!.........Hey .....wait a minute!!

My opinion on what our next step should be in iraq is really very simple:

I say we leave tomorrow. I'd rather save one American life & let the Iraqi's go back to killing eachother like they've been doing throughout history & will coninue to do the second we leave. Do it now!

So, the reasons we must "stay the course" in Iraq are:

1. The war is going so well that there's no need to end it, and,

2. It is going so badly that there's no possibility of ever ending it.

That's a good idea... I'm off to the liquor store.
