I am probably going to relocate my Mark1 next season. It would fit best in it's new home if I took the legs off of it. Anyone do this? If I take the legs off I guess I must plug the bolt holes somehow otherwise no more airtight stove..

See if you can run the bolts in from the inside, that way you will be able to get the stove off the floor just enough for air to get under it keeping it dry if it sweats a little.

just a thought.

Unbolt the legs, put the bolt back in the same way(bolt head down)so the head acts as a foot and if you need to use some caulk 'Seal It Right' from Rutland. 8o0* latex black non-adheasive, great stuff!

I took the legs off mine a while back and just ran the bolts back in. Heads down like was said.

If any of you guys want to get rid of your bolt-on stove legs, let me know (PM me). I'm contemplating modifying my stove to have a larger ash pan, which probably means I'll lose my legs, as they are part of the stove. :?:

If you really want some legs, you can make your own out of some 4" angle iron and some 1/4" strap. Here's some photos of the ones I built.

Those would look real nice on "my stove"!

Yeah, I could build them, but thought if somebody was going to ditch theirs ..... :D Of course, if I was removing legs, I'd hang on to them, in case I were to sell the stove.
