Only if the "supers" are seen to be taking the nominee away from the primary voters, IMO.

Otherwise, this thing won't get legs.

What do the dems do about the Florida & Michigan voters who went to the polls, cast their ballot in the democrat primary & their votes don't count? What a mess. Don't the dems want every vote to count; criminals, illegals, dead people, but not law abiding citizens I guess. :(

Yeah, the way they end up handling Michigan and Florida could play into any "trouble" that might arise at the dem convention just as much as a super delegate upset would. Even performing a re-vote is a problematic option. On its face it appears to be "fair", but in reality it is significantly unfair.
  • If either state government has to pony up a single cent for it it is unfair to the tax payers, particularly those who aren't participating yet have to cover the cost of two dem primary/caucus events.
  • Candidates that have already dropped out are denied equal opportunity with those who are still in. They ran strategies that excluded those states and didn't attempt to break ranks. Had they known this kind of thing were even acceptable they could have railed for it way back when and changed the entire tenor of the race. It's punishing those who honor the agreed upon ground rules.
  • Since this is all being considered on the suggestion of Team Hillary, to grant it or any other relief that isn't intrinsically a wash in terms of delegates is to potentially anoint her with a de facto "hero" stature in these two states and thus prejudice the voters in her favor.
  • On the flip side, other state's delegates, particularly uncommitted or super delegates, could be turned against Hillary, also unfair (even though "asked for" by her given this is her effort).
  • It is richly rewarding gross rulebreaking by these two state parties. It is unfair to other state parties and voters since they followed the rules on the basis that to break them would result in significant, real consequences. To let FL or MI back in is to grant them preferential treatment, not only because they'd be mostly let off the hook, but because their redo's in this late stage of a tight race become far more important than they every would have been had they stuck to the rules.

C'mon boys, FL and MI are in trouble because FL and MI defied the party rules in scheduling their primaries. The voters in those states know very well where to direct their displeasure: to those in their state parties and/or governments who got them into that situation. And those are the people/gov'ts who should pay to fix it.

Well, Hillary seems to disagree. Well, to be fair, she was for it before she was against it. ;)

Al Sharpton: :notworthy:
"Superdelegates are not Supermen. The party can’t say it represents the concept of one-man, one-vote democracy and then make backroom deals that ignore the popular vote and the will of the electorate. They will march in the street to protest a Hillary nomination if she comes into Denver trailing Obama."

Hallelujah!!!

Why do the dems make a political primary so complicated :?:

Because they tried to make it one-man, I mean one-person, one-vote, as much as possible. Had the GOP awarded delegates proportionally, the race would have been much closer -- Romney's "silver medals" would have been worth something.

Instead, you've now got a mental patient as your nominee.

"Superdelegates" so condescending. :notworthy:
"not obligated to support the candidate chosen by the voters". Sounds fair.

In her own words Hitlery said after the 2000 election :mad3: "this country needs to abandon the electoral college, and go with the popular vote!

A true American Hero ( like his politics or not) and this is how the TOLERANT LEFT refers to him as, "Mental Patient". But Hugo Chavez is a great guy, as was Che Guevera. Just another in a long list of reasons why the Liberals are so pathetic.

Clinton Going away? :no1:
"What if women actually started to assert their needs and interests, particularly women who have aged out of babedom? What if they stopped slinking dutifully into invisibility and instead rose up to demand their fair share of our nation's resources and rewards? What if they, like Clinton, finally said, "Hell, no -- We won't go!""

Remember when the dems fought to keep out military absentee mail-in ballots in Florida? Hypocrite's

LOL at using world net daily as a source. WND - famous for suggesting that immigration policy should be in favor of white's only, that soy turns kids gay, and that 9/11 was caused by God upset at the morality of the US and NYC in general. Do you also cite the Weekly World News?
