Poor Draft - Chimney Height

Correction, there is an orange clay liner in the chimney. But it is a 8" thimble making contact with the 6" X 6" flue.

That flue size should be fine. Try cracking a window in the stove room along with a little extra secondary air. Also, have the MPD wide open on warm days when the draft seems to fail. Those three things should correct your drafting issue.. :)

The three previous suggestions seem like the solution which I will try. Thanks to everybody that tried to help.

If you have a clay tile lined chimney , it is a standard 8x8" flue tile. Inside might be 7 x 7 inch. But to my knowledge there is no such thing as a 6 inch I/D flue tile. Been doing this $h!t for over 40 yrs. Just try running a brush down chimney and see what results are. Gasses could result in a vapor block like a sheet of poly in the chimney. Running a brush through just might clear things up a bit. What the hell ya got to lose? give it a shot and get back.

Right, I agree J F.. I believe mine is the same, 7x7 inside dimensions.
