Good day! Welcome. The smell of coffee will get you as you walk in. Ahhhh, nice! Come on in, have a seat.... but not the one with the cushy pad on it.... that's for Freetown Fred. He should be here any time now. I haven't heard a report, but hopefully his surgery went OK and he'll be with us shortly. We are having French toast for breakfast today. A friend made an angel-food cake in memory of her late husband. It took eleven egg whites so we are having yolk rich French Toast to use up the eggs. What else can you do with yolks? She made the cake because it was his birthday & he's "now an angel". It made for a good memory.

I shut my Axeman Anderson down last Sunday. Spring is here! There's still snow in the woods, but all the snow is gone from the yard. The grass is even getting some color. I'm sure the lawnmower will be fired up before too long.

I'll be around the house this weekend. It's transition time. Put the snow machines away & get the summer machines ready. I have too many motors in the yard! I've got to put the batteries back in the Seadoo, the lawnmower, the other lawnmower, and the other Seadoo. That Seadoo is going on Craigslist today. It's a good machine, but I don't need two! I did get rid of one machine & battery. Years ago I bought a tiny Kubota from a friend and last week I sold it back to him. Hmmmm.... I guess I just rented it. At some point I will clean the coal boiler. Too much to do!

I hope you all have a smooth week. Hug your loved ones & forward we go!

While sitting here and enjoying my first cup of coffee for the day I've developed a hankering for a mushroom, onion, and cheese omelet. Beyond that the future is still a blur. We'll likely start getting the garden plot prepared for planting.

Morning all. Its starting out as a very foggy day, soon to be burnt off by the sun. It will be in the 80's today. Time to "summarize" the stoves.
Yep, sure is quiet without F_Fred to liven things up. I hope he has a speedy recovery.
Hey Freddy, with the leftover yolks, you can make "Flan". It tastes like a high quality pudding. Yummy.

My 13 year old boy got himself a job! "Sweeping the floors", Wink-wink, at the local tractor dealer! Whooo-Hoooo! :D Our neighbor is the Owner, so my son even gets a free ride to work and back. He spent his entire Spring Vacation, and every Saturday, working there. And he is absolutely loving it. As he is showing more maturity and responsibility, and as payment for shoveling ALL the coal this winter, I got him a TracFone Cell phone. Pay-as-you-go. The phone was free with a 120 minute card, which cost $25.00 or so. Not bad! I told him he has to fill the minutes on his own. We'll see how long the minutes last.

Time for me to get outside and work on something.

Wow I'm WAY late for Coffee! The good news is, Fred's back home! 8-)

Thought I'd share another day of driving through MA ....

Looking for a bike for my neighbor. This is how I found myself in Abington, MA today. Let me just issue a warning to anyone driving through the state today: the ENTIRE state is under construction - well, the eastern half at least. Plus, it's quota time for Beacon Hill - so they have our finest out wasting time busting hard working drivers. It's no secret MA is a police state (literally!), but today I counted more police and troopers on the road than at any point EVER in my many decades of life here. Craziness!

I find it amusing when people jack their brakes on, and do 10 UNDER the limit when they spot a trooper on the OPPOSITE side of the highway. What's he gonna do? Jump the jersey barrier?? WTF ... This state is an endless source of entertainment! Not really ....

Driving just 5 hours in this hellhole sucked the life right out of me. AND we came home empty handed, thanks to another Craigslist description. Convenient how the guy took pics of the bike BEFORE he left it outside, uncovered & buried in 5 feet of snow for months ... and then wouldn't move too much on the price .. Craigslist!!

Hey! I found another one on CRAIGSLIST! Description says excellent condition!! Beautiful chrome! Needs nothing!! I'm gonna have to buy this one tomorrow! Check out the pic!! SWEEET! Oh how I LOOOOVE Craigslist!! :notsure:

Smitty, I had to follow some stupid Mass. driver for a few miles the other day,i don't know how many imaginary pedestrians they saw driving the entire length of Jonestown :mad3: and so many folks wonder why I don't like driving anymore. :mad3: Seems as tho Mass needs to seal their borders better,we don't need that kind down here,we have enough of our own idiot drivers.

toothy toothy

Yeah Windy I had a guy on the highway doing exactly that!! Kept slowing down for no apparent reason .. then I'd creep up 2" from his ass and he'd speed up. Why not just MOVE TO THE MIDDLE LANE??? People drive me nuts. I think they get a rise out of pissing everyone off by poking along in the left lane. What soulless robots ....

Watched a trooper fly right up on this guy's bumper in the left lane ... with NO CARS in the middle or right lanes ... and the guy just sat there, never checking his mirrors. I swear it took a solid 2 minutes before the guy even noticed the trooper on his ass, and moved over.

I saw that trooper coming a half mile out and moved!
