I ordered from them, 1 skid, a few years back. I think I'd have to order at least 4 maybe 5 to make the price worth the delivery charge.
where have you ordered from before?
I called Eastern Ice in MA today ... $290 ton for coal ... for 4 tons, delivery to New London, CT was $70 (seems to have gone up a little). So for 4 tons (nut) delivered = $1230 This would be bagged (50# bags) of Reading
BT does have relatively high delivery costs, I called them for delivery cost to New London, CT for 4 tons and cost was $130.
So for 4 tons delivered = ($280 times 4) + $130 = $1250 This would be for bagged (40# bags) Blashack (sp?) Santa Claus coal
So not a significant difference in price of coal. The 40# bags are easier on the back and I prefer Santa Claus coal (although I have gotten nut that was much smaller, hence less high-heat-producing, in the past whereas Reading, while having a wider particle distribution, generally has larger particle sized nut coal, allowing easier high heat in cold months) the wifey prefers Reading. I ran both nut suppliers coal this season.
