Bought mine used, but it's still pretty tight. On my old stove, replaced the door and ashpan gaskets when I first installed it, thought I got it wrong the doors were so !@*&?% tough to get closed at first. As long as it latches.

My Magnum had a new gasket installed and it took a firm push to closer up tight now it's a good bit looser . You seldom open that door anyway by the next time you have to you'll be surprised how the gasket compressed with heat and pressure .

Don't sweat the small stuff.
Too loose now that’s a different story.

Noticed the same thing with my MK III,

put a little candle wax on the latch sufaces, that really smoothed mine out.

I use silver high temp never seize, coat the latch engagement surfaces, work it in and remove the excess with a paper towel. The never seize gets into the tiny irregularities of the metal and won't ever melt off with heat (is good to 1200*F). Just be careful not to leave any excess on the surfaces you can touch! :P

"Never-Seez" brand anti-seize products are great products but depending on the grade can be expensive. The nickel and graphite based version is good to 2400 deg F! Check the reference for the various types so you know what you are paying for.
