Well,we got it in the basement.Took everything off of the stove that we could.Door,hopper,firebricks,grates,handles,etc.We stacked 4 tires on top of each other, slid stove off of truck bed, then onto 4 wheel dolly.Down thru the yard and into basement!Neither of us were hurt or aching(myself and son).We then proceeded to put stove back together while it was fresh in our memories!Good thing is that now I know how to change everything when the time should come.I called a heating place and they wanted $380.00 to do what we just did.Now to find about 30 five gallon buckets and start hauling coal here thru the summer. Sounds good my friend--30 pails??? that would last me a month in the dead of winter. Hit some new job sites for sheet rock mud pails.

Nice job Bill! Yer gonna love coal!
You might be able to find some free or really cheap buckets at restaurants. Working as a bread man, I see many a kitchen, and lots of bulk items are shipped in buckets.

Pickle buckets make for a great way to move coal... Check with your local BK or McD's. Good luck Bill with your Hitzer! As Lightning said you are going to LOVE coal!Lightning wrote:Nice job Bill! Yer gonna love coal!

I like the 5 gal bucket storage myself ... why have the coal put into one container just to be moved to another?

I have 86 5 gal myself I agree with david I fill my hopper right out of the bucket so why not store in them too, they stack good maybe 4 high is comfortable but could go to 5.
I have free and easy access to these other than cleaning them from paint, drywall compound witch ever was originally in them. So if you know a painter for drywall finisher you have it made, save some lids to they can come in handy.
Congrats Bill on your purchase and good luck!

Welcome to the coal burning club, Bill.
You do what is comfortable for you to get the coal to the stove. We are here if you need any help at all.
