Bush Views Katrina Devastation From 30,000 ft

PostBy: Devil505 On: Sun Mar 09, 2008 4:13 pm

Veiwing the devastation brought to the Gulf Coast from Air Force One (at 30,000ft), President Bush was overheard to say: "How many times do I have to tell you that caviar must be served at 67* dammit!!! Now take this batch back to the galley & bring it back at the correct temperature!!"
Anyone else wanna try a caption for this photo, which really sums up the Bush Presidency?

And what is it you expected him to do? Land at nearby airport, boat or take helicopter into the area then walk around? All the time using up valuable people and resources that could be used elsewhere?

Katrina was a disaster, twice... however I don't think bush flying in Air force One over the devastation had anything to do with it.

My Mom lives in Algiers La. which is across the river from the French quarter. When you stand on her porch you can look across the street toward the city and you will realize that you are looking UP at the river. This disaster was just a matter of time. If you have never been to New Orleans use the "goggle earth" thing and check it out. http://maps.live.com/

If I was President I wouldn't want the cold, impersonal photo of me flying over a devestated area at altituitude to be my alwsays remembered reaction. I would fly to a nearby airport than have Marine one helicopter me in to the actual area to see it on the ground & speak to the people....in person.. Like a human being that really cares about his fellow citizen. That's how I would have handled it.

In actuality. that famous photo is a great metaphor for the way GW Bush has led his entrie life: Looking down on this country from a high. priveledged vantage point, quite distant from & above us ordinary people who live & have to work, below him.

The state was run by dems, what did you expect. You didn't here Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour whining, why because he took control of the situation.

-Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco (dem) Way over her head.

-Rep. William Jefferson (dem) Kept $90,000 in his freeze. He was indicted on federal charges of racketeering, money-laundering and soliciting more than $400,000 in bribes. By the way he is a superdelegate.

-Senator Mary L. Landrieu (dem)

-John Breaux (dem) I actually like him but he was so disgusted he didn’t run for re-election.

-New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin (dem) And he got re-elected. :no1:

Retired Congressman Billy Tauzin once issued this description of his home state: "Half of Louisiana is under water and the other half is under indictment."

I'll map the route to make sure there are no bridges. ;)

And in the process would have accomplished nothing except as I suggested above taking up valuable resources, that helicopter would be better suited providing real help to the people affected by the hurricane instead of being used for feel good photo op session

School Bus Nagin??
Didn't he also say in a speech that New Orleans was going to come back as a "Chocolate City"?

Mayor Nagin wanted Greyhound buses to help evacuate New Orleans, while the city's school buses were left behind in the flood.

LOL....You seem to be stuck in the 1950's McCarthy era.....It's a new century & the few "commies" that are left are old men who drool.

The commies that I speak of and that I foresee rapeing and kiling our families are the RED CHINESE. They are a clear and present danger, much greater than anything coming from the sand dogs. The sand dogs can only bomb and kill a few, the RED COMMIES will inslave US.
