Hello Everyone,

I have a Keystoker K6 boiler. The main fan will not shut down. I woke up to a house in the mid 80"s !! Boiler was just eating coal and that is when I noticed the main fan running when it should only be the 2nd fan running. I tried blowing out some dust and shutting it down a few times but that main fan just was not going to turn off. I then had to shut down the boiler completely . Any suggestions or help would be very much appreciated. Which also leads to my 2nd question

Since the boiler is shut down what steps should I take for leaving it shut down till fall. I let it run last summer but this year I think I would really like to go over the old gal and try to prevent any issues for the fall and winter . If this should be a second thread please let me know and I will re post it.

Thanks everyone in advance I know I will get all the right info here !!!

Repeat timer is stuck in the "on" cycle.

Where is the repeat timer and how do I fix it or replace it. Is it the timer that I put the pins in to set idle run time ? Thanks for the quick reply !

Yes, with pins. Rotate wheel manually will move it off tripper pin and stop fan till next tripper pin comes around. It may not go around to next pin if clock motor is bad. You have to wait and see if you can tell if clock is moving.

The clock motor may be replaced separately if a matching one is found.

As always, do not attempt electrical repairs/replacements without having proper electrical training.

Timer trouble is most common...second common is aquastat trouble. Both/either are just simple on/off switches.

Did you spin the knob to get it off the switch first?

Take the wires off the switch (not the motor), if it still runs it is the aquastat or something else is funky. If it stops it is the timer.

No thermostat cranked up and calling? If not, tear down the timer and see if that helps. I need to get an extra timer.....

I recently was perplexed a ghost flow issue. Had cranked off the flow valves to all except the upstairs circuit which serves as dump zone also. The upstairs was too warm suddenly. Found down stairs master bathroom T-stat cranked wide open and triggering my pump in between boilers. This caused the flow to my upstairs. Took me a couple tries to figure it out. Just happened to catch the light on the Taco switch box once that clued me in.

Yes, I am still burning. Have enough in the bin to last the summer but should shut down to use up the last of the fuel oil which is 4-5 years old. What is the price of fuel oil right now?
