Of course if you go out of town, whoever comes by to check the boiler and empty the ashes can always feed the critters!

Image Here is a photo of one of my Hamburg Roosters. The photo was taken last aug. I bought 6 chicks in the spring , one died the others turned into 4 roosters and 1 hen. I get about 1 egg a day. They free range. I will provide a link to more photos.

Maybe this year will be the one when I get a coop built and put a few chickens in it. Keep posting pictures and I know I will get it done from their inspiration.

My mom was telling me just this week about all the animals on the place when she grew up. They had pigs, milk cow, chickens, horses, and hunting dogs.
In those days youth(and adults) were to busy doing chores around the place to watch TV or sit at the computer gaming all day. Our world is a lot different than that of our forebears.

Thank you. The Car my father's 1938 Willys 4dr sedan. Hamburgs are the type the author of the "Wizard of Oz" raised. Interesting & amuzing birds. The hen lays 1 small white egg per day. I really wanted 4 hens but this is what I ended up with. Image

I would like to get a sheep and goat. Maybe Icelandic sheep . I don't know. I am putting it off. I need to get some other things done I think. I go by a farm that has some lambs grazing and these cool looking long hair goats with nice horns. They were free ranging. I was surprised they didn't go in the road but they are out there quite a bit and I have yet seen them go in the street. I will get a few photos. Anyone else have photos or stories?

tvb, we raise chickens, and I built the coop from a set of plans I got off the internet. It is 8' x 12' with a storage room for feed, electricity for lites and heater, and windows I salvaged from old houses. Your probably 5 miles from us if you want to stop by and see it. Send me a PM if your interested.
