I agree! .....I thought it was a very courageous, honest speech & I urge all who didn't hear it to make the time to listen to it & not rely on the "Talking Heads" (on either side) to tell you what you should think.

Did you watch the speech? Be honest.

“We the people, in order to form a more perfect union.”-BHO

BHO wants to be a uniter, leader of the free world yet for 20 years he listened to or heard about his pastor/mentors racist anti American sermons yet he didn’t confront him? If he was so offended by the reverends words what could he have done? Two things:
1. Confront the reverend, (he could have read the very speech he gave today) telling him to stop preaching lies & hatred, & if it continued.
2. Disassociate yourself from the church. (Plenty of good churches in Illinois.)

But he did nether. Why? 1 of 3 reasons:
1. He agreed with the pastor. (Definitely not presidential material.)
3. He disagreed but was afraid to confront him. (Not presidential material.)
3. He disagreed but didn’t want to cause trouble & lose black support (look what they think of Clarence Thomas & Condi Rice) so he stayed with the congregation. (Morality dishonest.)

So we have to assume he thought at least one of these 3 things. IMO none make him fit to be Commander in Chief.

I take your diatribe as a no......You didn't watch the speech & yet you have no problem discounting what he said.
He actualy answered your above question quite honestly,eloquently & without spin......... I suggest you retreive your answer directly from Sen Obama' s words, instead of from the filters of Fox News or Rush Limbaugh.

I'm sorry I did read the speech (very good) & I actually get my news from many places. Haven't listened to Rush in a while.

I haven't heard the speech yet so I'll reserve judgement. I heard the chatter about it today on the radio and it was a mixed bag. Most I heard thought he should have distanced himself more forcefully but like I said, I'll reserve judgement. In general I don't think it's fair to saddle Obama with the rantings of this preacher. I thought I heard someone today say he only attended this church on Christmas and Easter. What does concern me, even without having heard the speech is his and his staffs apparent lack of judgement in not seeing this train wreck coming and being more proactive in his "distancing." It could be that he didn't know the video of the sermons was around but you can bet the Clintons dug until they found it. I should say that I'm not an Obama supporter but I do believe in playing fair if there is such a thing in modern politics.

The sermons were put on DVD by the church & sold at the church & on their web site. Didn't have to do too much digging.

So after Hillary has spent millions of dollars to become president, it may have really only cost her $11.99 for a DVD!

I think what you'll like about the speech was the fact that he didn't take the easy, politician's way out of what has become a very bad situation for Obama. He didn't just throw people under the bus & try to run away. He maturely & intelligently tried to explain his relationaship with his Pastor, an evidently very complex man an ex US Marine who group up in a much different world than you & I & Barack Obama. He accepts the man's faults but loves his virtues, just as most of us have family members or close friends that also are not 100% perfect that we don't throw away either. Holding Obama somehow responsible for the words of this man is, in my opinion, merely Hillary & the "Right"'s current attempt at "Swiftboating"him & is certainly a normal tactic of the "Right", but is an inexscusable tactic for a fellow Democrat to use. If anyone wants to understand the depth of Hillary Clinton's evil & "mania" to become President, they need to look no further.

The phrase Imus used, “nappy headed ho's” is said on radios, TV & in movie theaters throughout this country daily by, ironically blacks. I doubt Uncle Jeremiah’s sermons would be that popular. BTW IMO there is no place for any of it, it's disgusting.
