Barack Hussein Obama "A closer look"

Fact is if this was white preacher and white candidate he'd been crucified the minute this became public even before he had a chnace to explain himself, that my friends is discrimination. Frankly I'm a little tired of hearing such speeches from the black community, if they'd just STFU for a minute and concentrate on the root of their problems which is the black community itself they'd be lot better off...

Instead of race and gender (as if we didn't know one was black and the other a women), I would think there would be some better issues to choose when electing a President. It all just seems like a lot of distraction from the really relevant things to me.

With BHO I see income redistribution & I don't want to see Uncle Jeremiah visiting the White House & sleeping in the Lincoln bedroom.

Really? Anybody here remember Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson right after 9/11?

How many conservative white politicians, who had accepted their money/endorsements, got skewered by those words like people want Obama to be now?

How many conservative white politicians attended Falwells or Robertsons church for 20 years, claim they were their mentors, are like family, perfomed their wedding and baptised their children? Don't get me wrong, I think Falwell and Robertson are nutcakes just like Wright. I don't think it's fair to saddle Obama with the rantings of this preacher. BUT, it does cause me very serious concern regarding Obamas judgement. Guys like Obama don't just get up one day and say to themselves, "I think I want to be president.". He's planned this for sometime. His lack of judgement in this close association with Wright is troubling to say the least.

C'mon, those guys are "televangelists." How long's the "700 Club" been on?

Face it, there are lots of politicians -- and people -- who were or had been veritable "disciples" of these kooks for longer than 20 years when they unloaded that garbage.

But the much more important question is how many not only "disagreed," or "disavowed," or "repudiated" that crackpot language but how many actually disassociated themselves from those churches???

I'll give you a clue: John McCain actually went in the opposite direction: after repudiating Falwell in 2000 as an "agent of intolerance," he embraced Falwell's nutty Liberty University with a commencement speech in May 2006, long after the outrageous Falwell/Robertson remarks had been made.

Um, this particular loon is a Hillary supporter. 8-)

Why? Because Bill Clinton (whom he condemns personally) pumped $250 Million into his community at the end of his Presidency.

And he calls other black men "pimps" and "trash."

Nonresponsive counselor. The answer is none of the white conservative politicians claim either of these nutjobs as their mentor, claim they are like family or had any such close association for 20 years. Nice try but over ruled. Step back and sit down. :P

As usual, "Your Honor," you present a false and contrived choice, fabricated to isolate the individual you disfavor for extraordinary scrutiny. :hammer:

Entirely apart from the plain fact that black preachers have been using a much more confrontational style for as long as the people in their congregations have been on the "hind tit" of society, Falwell and Robertson have had a far more "voluntary" following than a preacher in a neighborhood church would have. If they say something contemptible, their followers can just turn off the TV, stop sending in $ and, most importantly of all, their politician followers can stop taking $$$ from their giant PAC's.

So, Judge, I have two questions for the Court:
1. Has Rev. Wright operated a PAC, or even given any money to Obama?
2. Has McCain, or any politician you're aware of, ever refused $$$ from or returned $$$ to Falwell or Robertson after their outrageous comments following 9/11?

If you either can't or won't answer, I think you ought to "recuse yourself." :P

1.) That's a matter that's pending. The IRS is looking into the Trinity Church tax exempt status. This is not some little "neighborhood church." They have 6,000 attendees every Sunday. I don't have the time or inclination to do your discovery for you but I wouldn't be at all suprised to learn that they have contributed money to Obama. They certainly have campaigned for him openly in church. That's probably a gotcha'.
Frankly I don't care as the issue before this court is the lack of judgement shown by Obama in publicly linking himself so closely to Wright. The crazy old uncle in the attic isn't going to fly. Remember, "this man is my mentor, like family."

2.) Again, do your own discovery. I don't know but some probably have returned money in some cases when outrageous comments were made and then contributions were scrutinized. It's irrelevent anyway, we're examining Obamas judgement, not McCains, Clintons, or FDR's or Lincolns. Everytime a damning point is made against Obama, your response is like a little schoolyard kid, "Well McCain did it too!" We'll have plenty of time to skewer McCain between now and November and I know you're already warming up the rubber room for him. But even a yellow dog democrat like yourself must in your heart (sorry, forgot you're a lawyer, so no heart)or somewhere in your quiet moments must have some reservation about the judgement of a presidential hopeful who didn't have the forsight to disassociate himself with this guy well in advance of the campaign. Obama knew one of his big problems was he wasn't "black enough." He was raised by two white women in Hawaii and attended private schools. not your typical boyz in the hood. His association with this church and this man was his attempt to make himself "more black." It just may well backfire on him pretending to be something that he's not.
