Stoker Coal Boiler: Gentleman Janitor GJ-5, Van Wert VA-600, Axeman Anderson130 X3.
Hand Fed Coal Furnace: Harman SF3500 reduced down to 3 grates connected to its own plenum
Coal Size/Type: Rice, Chestnut and whatever will fit through the door on the Harman
Other Heating: Noth'in but COAL! Well, Maybe a little tiny bit of wood

I have a much better idea. Wait till you find a good stoker boiler for real cheap, yes they do show up quite often, and stick it right next to the NY. Run a couple more pipes, then you can switch back and forth.

Save that project for next year though.

Lol yes of coarse, this won't take place anytime soon, and ya I know my base is very shallow, but it would be cake work to cut the bottom out and make it 12" deeper.my eye is always open to a good deal on a stoker lol

Another vote for a used stoker. While a great engineering exercise, not the most efficient use of your coal, time and money.
