Stoker Coal Boiler: van wert 600

Post by bern » Thu. Jul. 23, 2015 9:51 pm

Hello all,
this is my first post but have learned a lot from this site so thanks everyone for your wealth of knowledge. I have ran an undersized hand fed for several years but beer, tv, and the sofa convinced me to switch to a stoker this summer. Found an old Van Wert 400 with a 600 pot in it at a fair price. Replaced the DHW coil and had Arnie rebuild the trans, thanks Arnie for the great/quick service and fair price . The install is in progress plan to build the bin and dump zone this weekend and a larger storage area at some point in the near future. I live in Indiana Co and the only place close I have found to buy buck is Krevel Supply in Clymer. Now I have bought several items off them for work and have been very happy with their products, my concern is I plan on starting the old van for dhw well before any heat load. First am I wrong to attempt this, second where are my other coal options I plan to haul myself don't have the Gs for a tri axle.

somerset is pushing 2hr a little far was hoping for another option than what I have. I will ask some questions when I buy the price is 230 so its not overpriced for my area, I think, and there are only a limited amount of breakers.

Two coal yards on rt. 22 in Cambria county. One just west of Ebensburg and there is another on rt.22 west of rt. 271 at Nanty-Glo. There used to be one in Twin Rocks but I haven't been around there for a long time so I'm not sure it is still in business.

I just hope the OP was following the 3 Tractor Supply Company threads on here, and that he needs the size coal that they are offering.

There is a TSC in Indiana, Pa. : 2000 Shelly Dr, Indiana, PA 15701 · (724) 465-4190
