McGiever,

Thanks for the information. Don did provide me with info on Mark's Supply which I appreciate. I was unable to call yet as I work for the railroad and we are not allowed to carry cell phones and I have been working double shifts and only get home at midnight. I am off today so I will be able to give Mark's a call today. The link I posted was sent to me by my son.

Thanks,
Dave

I just spoke with Joe and Mark's Supply and he informed me that unless I am installing a oil burner there is no need for the ceramic fiber board.

The very top thread in the EFM section is the install in the EFM warehouse. It states there that IF oil burner is being installed then install the 3 pcs of insulation. I take that to mean that IF you are NOT installing the oil burner the insulation is not needed. :)

Windyhill,

Somehow I missed seeing that part in that thread. I guess I need to slow down and look a little better. lol

Don,

You're right, one more thing to check of the list. The list is still really long but hopefully it all comes together before the cold weather gets here.

Thanks,
Dave

You just keep chugg'in through that list and you will get there!

I'm in the same boat with that Dang list! I actually had to make the 2+ hour drive up to Mark's Supply this morning. I realized if my order was shipped, it wouldn't get here until Wednesday afternoon. If I waited until then I would never meet my goal of firing mine up by Friday night.

It was a good time though, I got to talk to Joe for a while about stoker conversions. He even has a Gentleman Janitor stoker side plate that an EFM stoker bolts right into. Obviously I'm not the first one to do this.

Don,

It sounds like you are on your way to getting done. Mark's Supply is 300 miles from me so driving there is not an option. Glenn Harris is suppose to be shipping out all the parts I ordered this coming week so hopefully I can get the base all put together and fire this thing up soon. My son is making the ash pan diverter for me which I'll have this week. Right now I'm working on getting the ditch dug and hole cut through the basement floor so I can install my Thermopex and get my pad poured.

I have left my oil furnace in just in case something causes me to not get the 520 going. The Aspen air handler will be the last thing I install.

Dave

Dave, You have a bit more work ahead than I do. My PEX is already in there, I just have to hook up the stuff at either end. For you, it's a question of how much time you can devote to the project. You got a few more weeks until it gets cold.

I'm looking for a little help or advice on how I should go about connecting my EFM-520 to existing in-floor pex manifold. I have 1" ThermoPex which will come from the new boiler shed into the basement. I have been looking online for a 2 port manifold that would have 1" outlets, one to feed my existing garage manifold and the 2nd for feed my new hydronic air handler. The biggest manifold I can find only goes as big as 3/4".

I have attached what I have currently feeding my garage and another picture I did on what I thought I should have for the new layout. The only thing I plan to keep in my current garage lay out is the manifold, everything else will be removed.

Does anyone have an idea on how I need to go about putting this all together or where I can find a manifold will 1" outlets or will using 3/4" work?

Thanks,
Dave
