Thought I'd check in with you guys concerning game cameras. Two weeks ago I picked up a newly filled Argon tank for my MIG welder. It sat in the tinted window van for three days in the back until I went to get it. 'Twas gone. Also seem to be missing my chicken fount.

Not sure why anyone would bother with the fount and the MIG tank would seem rather specialized for the junkies to walk away with as it weighs about 50#.

I'm looking for a couple game cameras. Has anyone had any luck in putting them inside windows peering out? I don't see how I could really camo them in relation to where I want to take pics.

My son found these: http://www.trailcampro.com/browningdarkopsreview.aspx

Any thoughts?

Mucho gracias

Infared flash is a must.
I'm partial towards Cuttyback's fast shutter speed.

I have a moultrie trail camera that I use and its is effective up to about 40 feet. I am not sure how clear the pic would be to identify anyone on a night shot since it gets blurry with very little movement. Also if an intruder sees the camera, without a secure enclosure they could walk away with the camera and your pics.

I also have a couple outdoor IP cameras that connect to my wireless router. If you have a wireless router and a place to mount the camera where you have power this is a good solution. Even my cheapo camera (non pan/zoom/tilt for $75) has a motion detect sensor which causes it to snap 6 pics when it is activated. The pics are then emailed to me so if the camera is taken by the intruder the pics are still available. You set the alarm sensitivity and also the times you want it activated, mine is set between 11pm and 7 am to alarm on motion. The only downside to my set up is getting false pics because sometimes bugs fly across its field of vision activating the alarm. I get some wild squiggly pics from those bugs.

Are you putting it inside the house to take a pic of someone approaching the van or inside the van to take a pic of somebody outside it?

I can set mine up to try it and see the effect of the through the window pic if you want. I won't be home tonight to try it in the dark, but will be around tomorrow night.

Was thinking about installing it in my house looking at my yard. I could put up a post bird feeder I guess for a disguise. Other than that there isn't much to hide the camera that won't be seen. The other way I was thinking of was to mount it high on my garage but then it'd be a PITA to get the SD card every day myself.

Thanks for the info guys. Looked at the Cuddybacks, not much good said of them on Amazon from customers concerning customer service.

I would say my cs experience with Cuddyback was not a pleasant one.
In the end I found my receipt and then was able to received a new trail camera through their warranty. Without a receipt they default to date stored in camera that you are to setup first time. I had skipped correcting the date and w/o receipt it was way out of warranty period.
Not wanting a repeat performance w/o receipt...I helped myself to a 3 year warranty by predating the setting into the future. ;)
