Good Morning fellow board members,
As I will be out all day I wanted to ask if anyone knows
of any grant programs with NYSERDA that help pay
for coal stoker boilers to heat a home??
Thanks much.

Hey Fred,
No help from NYSERDA in burning the black rocks for sure.
Buying the least expensive wood pellet boiler would cost me
twice the purchase price of a KAA- 2 or 4-1 Keystoker plus the
cost of installation.

And what would the pellets then cost?
Thinking outside the box here...Is it not possible to mix the wood pellets at some ratio with the rice coal into the Keystoker Boiler as a hybrid fuel?

I was looking at this at the urging of the spouse and
as I was reading more some posts from a pellet forum
in Europe and one of complaints was that the systems
were either sized to small or too large for the end user.
I think the pellets are 219-235 a ton (depending on whether they are
hardwood or soft wood) locally and I explained to the spouse that
we would be burning many a ton more as compared to using the black rocks.

On a another topic,
I was so sorry to here about whistlenut the other day.
I hope he has someone that can take care of his dual fuel
keystoker and the 5 other units that he took care of.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, you have an excellent sense of humor. NYSERDA is completely useless on all fronts. As I will be out all day I wanted to ask if anyone knows

I suppose its entirely possible to mix them and then burn them in a keystoker like nut shells and pine cones with no issues BUT as you mentioned earlier we may need much more combustion air and require the air inlet on the blower or blowers in the case of a direct vent unit to be wide open.

Yes indeed, hence my stating to use more coal and less bio in the mixture in order to stay closer to the manufacture's designed combustion happy zone.
