This Crane 202 has been sitting in the garage for at least 20 years now:

It has not been installed. My father bought it and that is all I know about it.

Will it heat my 18 feet by 24 feet garage in Portland, Maine ? This Fall, I will be insulating the walls but leaving the top open.

The 202 needs work.

I do not know how to operate it, so, I cannot know if all the parts are here. Actually, I am almost certain it needs a few parts. I do not even know how to piece together the parts that are here.

I have searched and searched for an owners manual.

I talked to Torie at Bryant's Stoves in Thorndike, Maine. Very, very nice people. I know some folks up there too.

Problem is, Bryants only restores up to 1930 vintage…nothing newer. This Crane probably came out of the 50's

Please advise. I want to begin heating with anthracite. I am starting with the garage. The house might follow.

Thanks…

Best advice is to enter Crane 202 into the search box ,upper right corner & see what has been talked about this obsolete stove.

This thread is directly from the original Crane family, Doug Crane would not print write this if he could help someone. If you post some pic's of the inside of the stove folks can try to help you.
