ASea,

A modern stove like my Leisure Line or the Hitzer that I sold last year are very durable stoves. Either one could be rolled down a hill, dusted off and then used for heat less than an hour later. In fact, Harman's are literally bullet-proof against most gun calibers.

I am sure there's an experienced shooter out there who would love to prove you wrong. 30/06 is the most popular sporting caliber ever. A Harman would'nt stand a chance and no one I know would shoot a valuable stove just to prove it. This is a coal forum so I will shut up. ;)

:D Don't ever bet your life on how "bullet proof" 1/4 mild steel is. You'll lose that bet. ;)

My welding bench use to be a background for a shooting range. Made of 1/2 inch thick steel plate. It has many holes from a 7mm Mag.

Ok, maybe I should have listed which calibers would and would not penetrate mild steel. ;)

The Garand won WWII and a deciding factor. A Barret 50 cal qualifies as shoulder mounted artillery. They have taken out more than 1 bad guy with a single shot and can reach out to 1600 yards. A job for a special forces guy but they have done it as have the British version of them. Those folks deserve a bunch of respect and thanks and ask for none. I travel off and on for biz and a soldier traveling in uniform has never had to pay for coffee lunch or breakfast if I spot them. With my luck an entire platoon will read this and max my credit card. Something that needs to be put into perspective for those that never served. You sign a deal with a blank check in effect up to and including death. A lot of young men and women have come home missing arms and legs trading for a possible college education and a lifetime of difficult living. Missing an arm and leg is a challenge to use crutches. I know a coal stove forum but this is not trivial stuff that should be easily forgotten.

95% is so far into fantasy as to be silly. if they hit 75% that would be an accomplishment.

Where does this 95% come from.

Does anyone have any DSM Anthramax literature that claims 95%? I haven't seen anything anywhere from them claiming that.......

I have no idea where anything claiming 95 percent came from. I think it might be a rumor someone started.
