I forget if I ever posted this here, I searched and did not see it, So here it goes.
I did a ton today in 58 minutes into the truck, so that is about 29 minutes for 1000 pounds, this guy is doing 1000 pounds in 29 seconds.

Wow, that guy has the stuff.. As for me I could probably get 1000# done between breakfast and lunch, but that would have to be one of my better days. Mike

He moved even more than 1000 pounds, since it said he did half a tonne (2204) pounds, not ton (2000 pounds). But he didn't have to lift it into the truck bed like you did, or arrange it front to back, or do the second half of the tonne, or shovel it out again when he got home, or listen to his wife complain about the coal dust in the laundry basket. So we'll give you lots of credit for your 58 minutes.

If I was in my 20's again.... my friend's used to make fun of my lower back.
The turtle always wins the race, I used to do about 24K pounds) at the one delivery in about 2 hours including a 30 minute break in between trucks. Slow and steady, just wouldn't stop.

Mike,I really "dig" your shovel I am so old my hands wont fit a shovel anymore. Had enough of that on a railroad section gang for two summers while in high school. I have evolved to a dump truck and a conveyor.Pacowy wrote:I'm getting kind of old but I think I could keep up with that fellow. I'd want to use my own shovel, though...

My hands still fit but my back, not so much... That MF 40B is a handy tool for all kinds of chores, including TL bulk coal deliveries, snowbank relocation and moving around heavy stuff.

My Grandpa used to tell me stories about his dad who was a coal miner in Illinois. He had his arm amputated above the elbow after a hunting accident. The drunk surgeon left him with a bony stump that just happened to fit in the D handle of a coal shovel perfectly. and back down in the mine he went.
