Here is a great link to the music my Dad used to listen to when I was a young lad. Couldn't stand it then but get it now.

It comes up in my Itunes but not sure how it works if you don't have Itunes. Window media center maybe?

Give it a whirl with your coffee and breakfast.

Never liked that music much either when I was younger. Sounds good now to this old fart. There is an app for it on iPhone . Thanks for posting :band:

Man, I don't consider these oldies...I is getting old.

Been listening to both country and western for many years ... I like almost all music .. but country & bluegrass the best.

Hagger complaining about current country music ^^ I don't know why he's so critical .. music genres are not there for anything but enjoyment for the most

I listen to WSM 650 AM (the grand ole opry station) quite a bit on my old radios, but of course I can only pick it up at night. Good stuff!

I rather agree with him, and that strikes at the rock and pop categories as well, it all pretty much sucks. "My 4WD, mud slingin, John Deere drivin woman with a cowboy hat and a cold beer 'tween her legs" crap was old a long time ago for me.

To each his own though and my tastes vary wildly from Dire Straits to Alabama to Diana Krall to ZZ Top and the list keeps on all day long. Oh yeah, you want some great music? Jason Isbell.

I do mostly agree with Hag. If you read any of his books, you will realize he is rather bitter about everything. He still does pretty good concerts.

I'm not saying the new stuff is bad, (not my taste but some like it), but it is not country. It is Pop music, with a few exceptions. Right now its all about men dressing in tight jeans and a cowboy hat, tatoo'd all over, pretending to sing  I'm more of an outlaw country person myself, but like the older stuff too. And rock, blues, soul, polka, some reggae, old rap, about everything but pop. Carrie Underwood bothers me the most because she has such a wonderful voice and is wasting it on pop.

It don’t work for me in windows, says I need realplayer, oh well. Sirius XM has a classic country station. I always enjoyed the classis country and bluegrass. The new stuff is hit or miss, a lot of the country went PC, don’t want to offend anyone.

Dammit, I didn't think you'd see my secret "take over the world" fund. :D

Smitty, it should read Shoutcast at the top left header. The next line down has a box that says listen. That's weird...or maybe my computer is weird.

GAW, sorry about that. I kind of figured there was probably a catch. Wasn't sure if it'd work with media player or not. Sirius and XM do indeed have some good oldies stations.

GAW, I had to buy another computer that doesn't have ITunes on it so I ran into the same problem. Windows Media Player will play this stream it just doesn't know it can. Here is a link that I used. Seems to work just hunky-dory.
