I've got feelers out for a Glenwood # 6 base burner, but in the mean time, I thought
I'd check out a few antique shops in the area for stoves. I found a Grander Golden Oak
440 stove for a really nice price. It was rusted and the nickle is nicely worn, but the barrel
and the grates are perfect.
My question. Is the finial correct ? When I took it apart to clean and buff it , the foundry
mark was " reading ". There are two counter sunk holes under the finial. Could be for a
magazine ?
Any information on the date of manufacture would also be appreciated.

The finial is correct for this stove. It's a basic Oak Stove and it should do fine. It doesn't look very large. What are the dimensions of it?
It dates from the 1920's, hence; the simple skirt and trim. This should be a good stove to learn on.

William,

The fire pot is 12" at the top.
Thanks for the reply.
