Beautiful day here in the southern tier of New York. I'm such a bad daddy, I made the kids get in the pool, we only have a few days left to use it. Friends coming over for a cookout and beers shortly. The siding project is coming along, just a few places on the other side left to do. In the foreground is my attached garage that was converted into a living room. You can see the outdoor speakers mounted along the facia. Playing classic rewind channel on XM.
I hope you guys are having a nice holiday...

Much of the same here in Wynantskill NY, floating in a similar above ground pool. I stained a few new fence panels, and then been grilling some St. Louis style ribs going on 5 hours now, and yes there is beer involved. Happy Memorial Day to everyone.

Ventured out of the neighborhood for the second time this week! Hit the local fair for some junk food and burnouts.

We made good use of the pool also. It reached 91 degrees in the shade at my house, hottest Labor Day on record according to our local weather service. I smoked some pork for sandwiches and had some family over to celebrate my dad's 65th birthday.

Loved the heat we had But today it it just kissing the 62* mark on my old mercury thermometer and lightly raining. Hate to be a party-pooper but coal will be burning a little sooner than we wish for. But that's not all that bad either

Late posting, but this is one of the things we did on Labor Day.We have had this White Mountain ice cream maker for 30 ? yrs, haven't used it for 20? We made homemade Maple syrup sweetened ice cream ,no additional flavoring. WOW,good eating. I can't have sugar,so I have only occasionally eaten the store bought DIET,chemically sweetened stuff with no fat in it. It is cold but not all that great. This homemade ice cream is DELICIOUS,made with raw, whole milk & cream from that same milk.

Years ago my Dad liked making homemade ice cream. Our ice came from the swimming pool. Good thing it was concrete, one year there was 2 axes in the bottom till spring.
